![]() ![]() I have a lot of questions about what specific strings mean, so I'll just go down the list: It's not like we don't have other far more easy ways to cheese in this game. The guide written by RedHookTyler is pretty good at explaining the basics, but a lot of this file isn't covered and I think it's the file I want to be looking at to do what I want to do with the game.īasically, I want to remove a lot of the effects of the torchlight system and make them baseline - for example, rather than monsters getting ACC/DMG bonuses at low light, they'd get those bonuses regardless of light level, with light level mostly only determining stress modifiers, surprise/scout chances, etc, and for these to apply to Radiant mode - this would mean I would need to use the modes/radiant/shared/rules.json rather than the DarkestDungeon/shared/rules.json file, right? ![]() I think for the amount of set up and planning required the pay off is about right. I'm not saying that the technique is poor, or pointless, just that it's a LOT of hoops to jump through for a bonus you probably didn't really need to begin with. So basically the sort of party that can cheese virtue checks is the same sort of party that would never need to because you already have Godly stress reduction available. The place where these trinkets work best is in parties that can't manage their stress properly and basically a virtuous cheese party has to have amazing stress reducers available for resetting an afflicted hero to zero if you fail the virtue check. I mean to do you even really need to bother with making them virtuous at that point? I mean if you have a party that can reliably take any character it likes from afflicted down to zero stress at will in a dungeon then that party is going to mop up anyway. Yes, they are more powerful than most people give them credit for, but to really abuse them you are have to completely build your entire party around doing so. I mean if you are going to bother cheating then might as well go for the most direct path to the same ends.Īs for the OPs assertion that virtue trinkets are OP I don't completely agree. You can also just mod in a 100% for all characters to become virtuous. Just do it before next action and as fast as possible.
